It was while i was searching for answers as to why BF2 on some occasions keeps disconnecting me every couple of mins, i found this article, i applied Fix 1+2 which has made BF2 and the source engine much smoother and have so far had no more disconnects.

Dual core gaming fix

Would be nice if they fixed tha random "Crash to desktop" Bug as well.
