IDE TO SATA CONVERTOR

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!!

i have just got a IDE to SATA convertor which changes my IDE drive to SATA.
but when i connect it all up my system doesnt see the drive
what i done
removed the old IDE cable
place the convertor into the IDE on the drive
connect the power to the convertor
connect the convertor to the SATA connection on the main board
and enabled the SATA option on the BIOS menu
but nothing now im back to my sh*ty IDE again
can anyone help

so if your drive is IDE why dont you just use IDE, it wont make that much diffreance if your using a IDE to SATA if any at all

no it wont, as it will still be using ide speeds even though you are using a sata connector, just adding a sata connector onto a ide drive wont improve your speed at all so dont bother tbh.

When they said converting to SATA they probably meant converting to using SATA drives from IDE.. not just using a converter cable.

IE : Converting to SATA totally.. SATA drives etc.. not getting a converter for an IDE drive..

Why not just but a serial u can get a decent 80 gig for like 60 bux american,.. ive seen them decently cheap on ebay in the Uk..
