Guys I have used rivatuner to soft mod my 6800's into FX4000's & I have see a performance increase in BF2 & 3D mark 2003. I know people say that the mod is counter productive as the FX is a workstation card but I can only relay what my testing has shown . I will mention that I have enabled fast wrights & side band addressing but I am using the GF drivers & not the Quadro approved drivers.

I always thought that the workstation cards were less powerfull. I know alot of people who have them and say they they work great in things like Maya and 3DSM but they suck serious cock in games...

The cards don't loose any of their power but the driver's do loose their optimization which is an issue if you need to play in high performance mode vs. quality mode. What I did notice was that the Frame rate of BF increase & it looked a little cleaner also so I ran 3D mark 4 times in each mode & saw a 300+ point increase with the Quadro mode enabled. It may be that Special Forces benefits from some of the features on the FX4000 , either way the move back to GF mode is a mouse click away so give it a go .
