Lets start with a Linky

OK so i h8 wireless and my netgear router only conects to the PC down stairs about 50% of the time. so i was looking to get sometime better (its a wirlessG/firewall/4 port hub/ADSL modem all in one) so i dont want to replase that becasue its nice..

so thats the situation out of the way,

i found the above product on Dabs.

its 85 Mbps which is faster then my wireless, buti knoow Fook all about using my electrical wires as a network. so i was wondering if any of you do?

so heres the questions.

Any good?
Reliable?
Secure?
Can you conect more then 1 throw you wires?
Do you need a specal router?
What limitations are ther?

thank.

EDIT.. thay also do music throw you electrics, so you can be wired for sound..

well my m8 rang me this morning to say the course got canceled becuase the instructor had a heart attack [who needs to go on a management course anyway ]

well this is what he sed
He say's if your gonna use it for gaming your better off with Ethernet
Its ok for Browsing the net and file transfers.. but its maxed out at about 13Mb/s
and as an alterneative to WiFi in his house its vv good. (his house has stonewalls that are about 2ft thick )

thats a quick sum up. so i guess you gotta ask yourself two things

Is this going to be more effective than a Wireless 11g network?
Is it worth it? (broadband speeds are starting to reach about 10Mbit allready.. its only a matter of time till your network will be slowing your connection...)

Personally id go for something like This
or This

Both are avaliable with Network cards (for about £80)
but only the first one is a combined Firewall, Router, ADSL modem.
The second is what i use at home.. Works fine through several Thick Stone and brick walls but it doesnt have the Inbuilt ADSL modem...

But in the end it depends on what suits you best for your needs..

lol nether of thoes links work... 1 is for a digy camra..

anyway

the plug i was looking at is 85 Mbps (not 13mbps so thats nearly as good as 100mbps)

My wireless sucks from here to the dinning room, and i have a combined firewall/ roughter/ adsl modem/ wi-fi point.

I think i'll get an dads cheppo one for now (2x13mbps for £40) just for BB, i'll let you now how it pans out.

thanks for the responce.
