I have bought Battlegorund 2 and it's on it's way in the mail, but I went to dl the demo and once I installed it and went to run it the screen goes totally black and on the taskbar I have an error window but it wont bring what the error is. I did as the website suggested and uninstalled it, shutdown all un-needed background progs and re-installed it. I get the same result, anyone else have problems playing the demo?

Hope the game works when it arrives,

Sorry about the confusion, I mean battleFIELD 2. My bad.

Here is some system info:

XP Pro
1.3 gig AMD Athlon processor
512 mbs of mushkin
NVIDIA GEFORCE 6600 GT

I think that should be all you need. I might mention that the error I get during the black screen is only evident in the taskbar and it does appear to be a game error (because of the coloring of the window tab) and not your regular run of the mill windows error.

Thanks for any help you can lend

NVIDIA GEFORCE 6600 GT <is fine

1.3 AMD = too slow
512RAM = OK but 1GB or more is better

you need a new processer m8

Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.

if it's agp and the game doesn't start properly, try putting your AGP down to 4x.

I've read that the intro movie can cause problems if you don't have the correct codecs to play it.

Try checking on the totalbf2 forums.

a lot of new game/new install CTD problems are caused by refresh rates. such problems are normally fixed changing ur desktop refresh to 60hz and uninstalling/disabling any refresh rate locks you have running.
