Guys I am using an nForce2 ultra & the board comes with the soundstorm audio chipset . I also have an Audigy 2 on the same PC .... My problem is that the Audigy gives smother frame rates ( i.e. no 30- 40 second stutter when new map has loaded ) but the mofo runs 20-30 fps slower than the soundstorm . I have the latest drivers & I also used the creative patch for the Open AL dll & its driving me nuts. any sugestions ?

there will naturally be buffer lag.. but if its killing your FPS it'll be because its eating more CPU/RAM... best solution if you wanna keep a decent FPS is to free up some resources... maby dont run so many programs in the backgound.. or try running the game with slightly lower settings... i know its not an attractive prospect but its all i can come up with on short notice
Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.

Thanks lads - I have already tried all of the above & I guess my frustration lies in the fact that the game is branded as a Creative friendly app & my onboard chip beats the crap out of the Augigy ... might play about with re installing the drivers this weekend

well I have a nforce board with soundstorm and a creative Audigy 2 aswell I find smoother fps in audigy and clearer quality rarely but at times after I've played for like 4hrs the sound stutters for some obscure reason but no fps drop if anything an increase over soundstorm, only usual things I can sugguest to you is 1. make sure u have the latest drivers for ur nforce board and audigy card + latest mobo bios, secondly make sure u have hard acceleration on max for ur soundcard, if that doesnt work sorry
