question about radeon 9550

Hey guys. I was wondering if any of you know what video settings should be in battlefield 2 using this system.

2.3ghz p4
512mb rambus (tryed to get a gig, that stuff is expensive)
Radeon 9550 256mb
40 gig hd
soundblaster audiogy 2
Xp home sp2

ive had everything set to low. but i feel it should be able to handel more then low. well if anyone has any info please post.

well im using pretty much the same system but with 1GB DDR and a 9250 256mb which is the same as the 9550 (almost)

the cpu and memory are letting you down the highest you can run it at with a decent framerate is low

bearing in mind you system is only a little over the minimum specs


i can run mine all medium but i only get 10fps
i keep mine all low appart from textures @ medium

2.4ghz p4
1024mb DDR400
Radeon 9250 256mb
120 gig hd
Genius Soundmaker live 5.1

lol your the second battlefield 2 guy to ask me that. Yes i am. i used to model and texture weapon replacement models for counter strike and day of defeat. Im no doing web work for paragonsports. and one of my renders will be in hamtons magazine this week (i think its this week) the add is called shop naked @ www.paragonsports.com

i use 3d studio max r 7. im going to be buying an alienware system soon. becuase my system just doesnt have the kick for 1 games and 2 large particle system renders. (in short I NEED LOTS MORE RAM)

lol got any tutorials for 3DS MAX ?
been looking and there all like £80

i might try maya but it depends on wheather or not i can get hold of a tutorial for 3dsmax

wanting to do some modeling for BF2 (can do mapping but its annoying having to use the stock buildings!)

yea. ive got some good ones. (maya is much harder then max by the way. learn max then maya. its much diffrent. trust me.)

Maz, did you have to put your AGP down to 4x to use it with BF2? Because I have the 9250, and the card isn't actually compatible, so I had to tweak it. Also, how are your GFX with that card?

dude you prolly have a better CPU than me Stoner ... i tried 4X and the game ran with about 10fps :/ so i think ill keep it how it was.. at least i get a stable 35-65fps
