go into Control Panel then "Sounds and Audio Devices"

in audio does it have your context in the sound play back?

also while your there so in to hardware

find your audio device and click propities at the bottom it should tell you wether or not its enabeld.

also worth checking that in audio/sound playback/advanced

that you have told it you have speakers.

Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager

look in audio devices and see if your soundcard is showing, it might be disabled (if so enable it ), or if its not showing at all its possably not installed (but you tried that didnt you?) or has been disconnected when they fixed your keyboard..... thus meaning you have to strip your lappy and check the connection

Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.
Issue the orders Sir, and I will storm Hell.

Believe me, i have enabled it.

It's not the fact that i have to upen it up which is perticulally bad. What is bad, is that im only used to opening and working with desktop PCs, and wouldn't know where to even start in order to find the speakers inside laptops. Does anyone know where to find them. :s

the fact that u say its grayed out makes me think that opening up your laptop and messing with the speakers wont do jack. If they are shafted then not alot you can do, and if they aint shaft you can break em. I think its a software issue rather than a actual problem with the speakers.
