Vista is pretty cool tbh, quite liking the beta when I get time to play with it.

Nice to see dual core support, my Back-up PC will run it which is nice but I am inclined to agree with Maz on Vista in that I just do not see enough benefit's to justify the upgrade cost. DX10 is the only driver to go Vista ATM & currently as you guys probably already know its slower than XP & may continue to be slower running 32bit apps . What is interesting is that the Daul core benefits must be bourne from the multi CPU design of the next gen consoles ... could this be the begining of the end for single core Gaming Rigs ?

Man the spec has gone up big time
Minimum spec is up by 256Mb of system ram to 1Gb 256Mb of GFX ram HDD has doubled to 12Gig
Recommended has gone up by some margin ...
lowish to Mid range core 2 Duo up another half gig of ram to 2Gig ( more I will wager if your running Vista ) GPU - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar .
I read the beta is having MAJOR performance issues with pimped up rigs & 8800 GTX's , this I am sure will be remedied in the next couple of weeks (not) . We should be prepared for a game which will not run at blistering speed unless you have SLI / CF .
I quote GameSpy " Still, all of the sumptuous beauty was marred just a tad by the choking frame rate. Even when running on hardcore, custom-built nVidia rigs, the game chugged significantly during the larger firefights. "
" We found that the frame rate issues became a serious detriment to our abilities to score frags, and, even more troubling, our ability to really enjoy the game. There's nothing worse than taking careful aim and firing short controlled bursts at... nothing at all. The zigging and zagging that typically accompanies FPS play became more than simply an evasive tactic in Crysis' multiplayer, it was a nearly impenetrable defense that appeared to have your human-controlled foes warping small distances during severe firefights. "

Vista is not slower than xp, or if it is, its by a max of 2fps spit. Its a really good OS, give it a chance.

I didn't say it was slower mate , its the level of resource which has risen . I like my Vista 64 apart from the fact the driver support has knobbled my Web cam . More info from FudzillaEDIT - Vista must make it slower or you would not need the uplift on hard ware !

completed crysis, brilliant game, some of the levels are just amazing, especialy the level after the snow when you are running from the aliens, ran great in medium with res @ 1680 x 1050
my spec is Athlon 64 x2 6400 black edition BFG GT 8800 4GB ram
i have vista, just need to install it, i tried just before xmas but kept getting BSOD every time it installed and booted up for the 1st time, gave up and went back to XP, which worked fine straight away, found out the reason was the 4GB of memory, help desk says for vista you have to remove 2GB install then add 2GB after install, i know hard to believe.
