F.E.A.R. Review
The physics in this game are the most realistic I have yet seen in a first person shooter. If you happen to shoot a soldier in the chest with a shotgun while he is jumping off a ledge, he goes flying backwards like he has been hit in the chest by a sledge hammer swung by the world's strongest man. No matter what gun you use the enemy bodies seem to react in a lifelike manner, slumping on walls or being pinned to a wall with the nail gun.

I enjoyed the action in the game for the most part but just like the reviewer said, the level design got on my nerves going through the office block thinking ive done this level before.

I have not completed the game but I have to say it is enjoyable, Stan's review rings true (thanks for the tip on using my decent guns m8) . I have just reached the part where you meet your 1st troops using cloaking devices (well they look human to me) The suspense is great & although I have read some negatives about the aiming / gun play I would say that yone should view the movement penalties as a good way of slowing you down & allowing you to enjoy the ambience of the game. The kinetics & random nature of the fire fights are what do it for me ... seeing the glass & concrete fly while you rush round a corner in slow-mo is amazing & the gore whoo hoo what a laugh. I would rate this over Doom 3 in every way & it beats HL2 in all but two areas , the 1st being plot & the second level design . I pick this up & use it for some light entertainment when I need a break from BF2 & if you want an indication as to how compelling it is ... my short forays are never less than 3 hrs & even then its

my sleep requirements which force me to turn off the PC. One for the collection but buy it for the single player experience, this sucker has much replay value against the AI but the multiplayer is a bit boring

One of only 4 games that I have finished in a single sitting (the others being Farenheit, Max Payne 2 and Baldurs Gate 2... good thing I don't sleep.) It's compelling, well constructed, excellently designed and occasionaly terrifying. More than any other FPS I have played, the enemies are a sheer joy to dispatch. Spinning arouind and dropping a clone trooper in slo mo with a nail gun, roundhouse kicking a pair of grunts and throwing a perfectly angled grenade into the face of a heavy trooper. Surrealy stylish and... fun damnit.
