Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000
Other than being able to track smoothly, the next most important mouse feature is accuracy, how well the mouse glides across the surface on which you use it is paramount. Two things help the Laser Mouse 6000 in this area, the first being the extremely thin and unobtrusive cable, it never gets in the way thankfully, it's the next best thing to a wireless mouse, only entirely without any potential mouse lag that's always associated with such rodents.

Nice write up.

A mouse has allways just been a mouse to me until I bought the logitech MX510, would it be classed as an upgrade/downgrade if I went for the Lazer 6000? Reason I ask is i know nathan is after one and being the little lad he is it sounds ideal.

Another thing, I presume all the butons are bindable ingame ect? and where are the buttons located on the mouse?

Yup, in the same position as the one on the left.

I imagine it would be ideal for Nathan yer, but tbh It is all about ergonomics and feel, go try some out down a PC shop. I really like the Laser Mouse 6000 after sticking with it for a week, but some people will not like it.

As far as the MX510, I am willing to bet this tracks better.

Quite annoying when they magically unbind themselves though

I've never had them unbind themselves. Then again I don't use logitech drivers, I use the MS ones with XP.

Think you'll find that it's only 800dpi, not 2000.... (info take from the technical sheet found on m$s website).

compared to other gaming mice, microsoft has made a poor attempt at competing imho. there are better laser mice out there for gamers, esp. logitech's mx1000 and razer's copperhead.
