Far Cry 2 PC Review
Far Cry 2 PC ReviewEnvironments are you would expect are unmistakeably African. Ranging from semi desert-like areas to dense equatorial jungle and even rolling grassy plains of the Savannah, all of which are quite frankly stunning. Graphically the game is amazing, the various styles of environment merge into each other gently and convincingly, coupled with the dynamic daylight and weather systems we are treaded to some exceptional views, especially in the morning and evenings as the sun shines through the mountains and trees, it really is breathtaking at times.

As I said in the review it's got SecureRom in it, which at the minute in particular is highly controversial, indeed EA are facing at least one class action law suit for using it in Spore I think.

To be honest I'm fairly sure SecureRom isn't the malware some people claim it to be, but I don't think EA warn anyone it's included, where as it's deffo on the Ubisoft packaging. I could be slightly wrong with that but there's IS an army of PC gamers that simply won't buy any game with SecureRom included at present.

Thing is, all it does is screw over people who actually bought the game, pirates can always get around such copy protection.

Yep, the Securerom protection for Spore was cracked 4 days before Spore was on sale. Amusing

Wasn't bothered about playing this, but I just picked up a copy for the ps3 at the bargain price of £17.

I cant seem to get into this game, it seems to be two hours of driving for five mins of gameplay.

Also you have to pretty much avoid the roads or you get constantly attacked.

It can be like that sometimes, but i still enjoyed it on the Xbox, I spent an hour hunting Zebra once... And Midnight, where did you find that bargain!

Yeah, I thought the same Stan. Bought the game for the 360 from ASDA, took it back for a refund a couple days later it was that bad, lol. I found myself constantly getting attacked, so you can't just go for a free roam. Having to constantly open the map up to see where you're going is annoying. Plus, as has already been stated, takes forever to get anywhere for a few minutes action.

Finally getting into this game, all it took was a silenced pistol !

It still pisses me off that if you are on the road for more than 30 seconds you will be under attack and forget about trying to get away.

However when you finally get to a mission there is a certain satisfaction to taking them all out silently or laying the perfect ambush.

Just wish it didn't take so long to get into and isn't so daunting to new players.

I tell you the thing that almost ruins the game for me, is that the nme can see you from miles away yet you cant see them on a 43 inch plasma, its a joke.

I am saving up for the camo suit but it will have to be a miracle to sort the issue.
