Good review Ryan, sadly I havent played Dead Rising as much as I had hoped, then again I havent played my xbox360 as much as I thought I would and its not the console or the games fault.
The great thing about Dead Rising is it makes a change from the usual generic games you normally find, think of it as Resident Evil mixed with Dynysty warriors and Dawn of the dead and you have a nice hack and slash zombie fest despite that killing zombies is not being the primary objective in the game it still is a lot of fun. Like Ryan has said the AI is pretty poor most of the time but I can think of other problems aswell for example:
- The controls could have been improved, it does take a while to get used to everything which you can do but if they had simplified the controls a bit it wouldnt be a problem - I found the save a bit akward, if you for example die in the middle of the game and decide to quit and save while your at it, you will have to restart the game from the beggining which re

- I found the save a bit akward, if you for example die in the middle of the game and decide to quit and save while your at it, you will have to restart the game from the beggining which really annoyed me but atleast you keep your stats and experiance. So if you save you must save while your alive!
Other than those problems I think the game was great and original and Im hoping a sequal or something similar is made.

Would just like to add that a multiplayer system over live would be quite fun for a while, co-op zombie bashing, also patches can be downloaded then to add new areas/weapons or whatever

I meant to add that coop would make this game even better, but in the end I just didnt have the space. I also meant to add that you can download new clothes for free, although they dont do anything to your stats.

Nice article! (Maybe not as nice as that fine young man who did Joint Strike Force, whanetever his name was, you should go there and read it now). Just wanted to ask how combat is implimented - do you have a lock on system or are we free flailing? Also, what do you do with the experince point? Nice work - keep it up! Giant TV and a 360 huh? Where did you say you live?

Its all free aiming, I dont recall there being any lock ons at all during the game. Has to be said some of the most intuative controlls I have used on the 360, very good tbh. You can even set it so that when you go into aiming mode it can be via where your guy is looking or the camera. So much to mention in this review I couldnt possibly fit it all in and still make the thing anything less than a novell. You dont get to spend the xp as such, it just gets you to a next lvl which then gives you health or a extra item slot. Sometimes you get a upgraded hand to hand move, like ripping the zombies guts out with your hands, or grabbing one by the legs and spinning him so you nock down all the zombies in the area. As for the giant tv thats kinda the least of my guy, I guess you could say i am a Audiophille and Vidophille and no thats nothing to be ashamed of !

The control system is much like Resident Evil 4. Unfortunatly you can't run and aim, you have to stand still. Aiming in first person and aiming with a weapon while running around is done manually which, apart from first person, can be quite difficult. Using melee weapons is easy, it'll lock onto a target as soon as you press an attack button, there's no lock button like in most hack 'n slash games.

I wouldnt say it locks on as you can still miss, but it is very very easy to do, if their is a lock on system in melee its very subtle indeed. As your character doesnt change direction or anything. You can run and fire but its almost pure look if its hits.

Yup, when you're using a projectile weapon. If you use a melee weapon, it'll lock on a tad, it's really well done. You can still **** it up and miss but it doesn't become frustrating.

Is this the 360's Killer App? As we all know the lifespan of all consoles is usually down to just one game making the hordes want it. No GoldenEye - No N64. 360 has yet to have one single game thats going to push it in the newgen market - is this it or shall I wait to be excited?

No it's not that game, it is very good but it aint the one that will make everyone buy a 360. Gears of war might be that game ?

If I am honest i think one of my fave 360 games and one that is reason enough to buy the 360, is fight night round 3. Just the way it plays and feels is fantastic and in two player its just so intuative. Very much worth a buy for every single 360 owner, even if you aint a fan of sports, because I know I aint yet I love it to bits. Sadly as good as it is, I dont think it will be the game that makes everyone buy a 360, but those of you with one should check it out.

Not a bad review that ryan, cracked me up anyway with the dildo remark.
I will definately buy this game when I get a 360, and maybe Halo 3 might be the game?
