Battlefield Vietnam
BattleField Vietnam Review.
Conclusions
Despite all it's faults, and it clearly has many, Battlefield Vietnam is actually quite a lot of fun for short periods. Now the balance issues have been looked at, and somewhat improved, these periods are a fair bit longer.

Online performance is also much better.

I still feel that it doesn't quite capture the large area combat feeling of Battlefield 1942, this makes it feel like just another average FPS war game, of which there are many. Even if it is larger than most.

It's also short on maps, with several of the official maps being re-hashes, with almost identical layouts.

If you're still thinking about buying it, my advice would normally be to try the demo, but unfortunately there still isn't one.

In fact, had there been a demo, I probably wouldn't have bought the game, that says everything really.

Good stuff
  • Quality soundtrack.
  • Much improved gameplay with latest patch.
  • Larger than the average FPS.
Not so good stuff
  • Plastic looking player models.
  • Severe sound issues.
  • Not enough good maps
  • Online performance isn't great.
  • Adds nothing to an already overcrowded genre.
  • No demo.
